Picture
We at CBPNY acknowledge the current difficulties and anxieties arising from the current Covid-19 pandemic. We strive to provide first class care to our patients, even in the most difficult of times.

CBPNY is proud to provide therapy via HIPPA-compliant secure video conferencing or telephone sessions, where appropriate. We are offering intake evaluations and individual sessions to support social distancing protocols and help contain the spread of Covid-19, while meeting your mental health needs.

Common Sense Precautions

  • Clean your hands: Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, cover all surfaces of your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer and rub them together until dry.
  • Use your inner elbow to cover coughs and sneezes.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home is you are sick.
  • Engage in social distancing.

Understanding your Anxiety

Everything about the world with Covid-19 feels like its out of control.  People need structure and a sense of control to feel stable and grounded in their lives. Anxiety, uncertainty, and fear are natural reactions to this type of disruption. The lack of structure from regular school, work and social interactions also commonly cause people to feel sad and lonely.

These are a normal reactions to an extraordinary situation. Practice self-care by setting up a daily routine for you and your family, connecting with others via phone, video, or social media and share your experiences, and avoid over-engaging in news consumption. If you feel like your anxiety or sadness is becoming the predominant feeling in your life, and/or is causing distress and interference with your ability to function, seek professional support.
